Travis Kelce’s candid thoughts on meeting Prince William at a Taylor Swift concert

The professional football player expressed his happiness at meeting some of the royal family members and shared his appreciation for London. Travis Kelce shared his thoughts on meeting Prince William after attending his girlfriend Taylor Swift’s concert in London.

Kelce, who has been dating Swift since September 2023, accompanied the singer as she introduced him to Prince William and his kids, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, at the concert held at Wembley Stadium last Friday. A photo of their meeting was later shared on Instagram on June 21, which also happened to be William’s 42nd birthday.

Talking about the encounter with Prince William on their podcast New Heights, Kelce mentioned that the Prince was really cool. He also shared his uncertainty about whether to bow or curtsy when meeting them, or just shake their hands like an American. Jason, who stopped playing in the NFL in March, added that they were informed beforehand that they did not need to bow since it was not a formal event.

“The real standout was definitely Princess Charlotte, although Prince George did a fantastic job as well. She was just so incredibly cute,” expressed the ex-Philadelphia Eagles player.
“I can’t even put into words how much of a little superstar she was. Maybe it’s because I now have three daughters of my own, but she really had this spark to her. She was curious and asking questions, and that was the most exciting part of the whole experience.”

Kelce commended William’s approach to parenting, noting that nine-year-old Charlotte seemed to be actively engaged and curious, asking questions. Additionally, both Kelce and William spoke highly of London, praising everything from the beautiful scenery to the superior taste of the beer. Kelce mentioned that the beers in London are more flavorful and enjoyable, likely due to their longer history of brewing. He also appreciated the diverse scenery in different parts of the city, finding it refreshing and enjoyable.

He expressed the highest approval by stating that the only team he would consider leaving the Kansas City Chiefs for would be a London-based team, citing the city as “amazing.” During the third night of eight performances in London this year, Kelce made a special appearance on stage with the American pop star Taylor Swift, causing the crowd of nearly 90,000 to go wild.

The footballer made his stage debut, with his brother Jason sharing that the performances in the city were the first time he had witnessed the singer’s live show.
