Undeterred by the backlash, the new co-head of DC forged ahead with other casting changes, firmly believing that these sacrifices were essential for the development of a superior DC Universe.
Dwayne Johnson, a prominent Hollywood star, found himself facing a roadblock when James Gunn took charge. Johnson had dedicated considerable time and effort to establish his own niche within the DC Extended Universe with Black Adam, only to see his aspirations crumble under Gunn’s reign. It seems unlikely that we will witness Johnson donning Black Adam’s outfit in the near future.
However, losing the opportunity to play Black Adam was not the sole DC role setback experienced by Johnson due to the arrival of the new regime.
