The Eagerly Anticipated Espionage Flick by Jason Statham Receives its Highly-Awaited Release Date

Finally, after a long period of delay, Jason Statham and Guy Ritchie’s highly-anticipated spy thriller, “Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre,” is at last confirmed to hit theaters in the United States.

Jason Statham’s long-awaited espionage thriller, “Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre,” directed by the acclaimed British filmmaker Guy Ritchie, has at last been given a release date in the United States. The film has encountered several obstacles leading up to its premiere in American theaters.

Originally set to debut on January 21, 2022, the release date was later pushed back to March of the same year. Eventually, it was completely removed from the release schedule due to the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian War. This decision was made in order to adjust the portrayal of Ukrainian villains within the film.

Fortunately, “Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre” has now been granted a domestic release date, as announced by Lionsgate and Miramax. Fans can expect to see this Statham-led action-comedy on March 3. Along with this news, a thrilling new trailer for the film has been unveiled, which can be viewed above.

Starring as Orson Fortune, a skilled undercover agent, Statham leads a team consisting of capable partners Sarah Fidel (played by Aubrey Plaza), J.J. Davies (portrayed by Bugzy Malone), and Nathaniel Jasmine (played by Carey Elwes) on a challenging mission. Their objective is to stop the billionaire arms dealer Greg Simmons (played by Hugh Grant) from selling a mysterious new weapon technology. To accomplish their mission, they enlist the assistance of Hollywood actor Danny Francesco (played by Josh Hartnett). With the success of the mission resting in the hands of an inexperienced actor, the group of unlikely spies must think on their feet and come up with creative solutions to save the world.

Previously known as “Five Eyes,” a reference to the international intelligence alliance between five countries, the movie underwent a title change in late 2021 to its current one. Ritchie seems completely in his element with the intricate and playful plot of “Operation Fortune: Rise de Guerre,” along with its eccentric and witty characters. Joining the cast are Max Beesley from “The Outsider” and Eddie Marsan, a frequent collaborator of Ritchie’s who has appeared in the director’s “Sherlock Holmes” films, “The Gentlemen,” and “Wrath of Man.”

Recently released internationally, the film “Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre” has received a mixed response from critics, earning a 65% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. While reviewers acknowledge that the action-packed movie may not reach the level of director Ritchie’s most acclaimed works, its fast pace and charismatic characters provide audiences with an exciting and thrilling experience. “Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre” is set to debut in the United States in a few weeks.
