“Step into the Fashion Time Machine with Miley Cyrus on New Year’s Eve: Rediscover Legendary Looks of the Bygone Era!”

Miley Cyrus made her New Year’s Eve special on NBC a true throwback experience by sporting some of the most iconic outfits from the ’90s and early 2000s. The show was not just a star-studded event with appearances from Dolly Parton, Paris Hilton, and David Byrne, but also a fashion extravaganza. With the help of her stylist, Bradley Kenneth, Cyrus wowed the crowd with numerous outfit changes, displaying designs from famous brands such as Versace, Bob Mackie, and Gucci.

It’s always a challenge to decide where to begin, but let’s start by chatting about Cyrus’ breathtaking pale pink halter dress from Versace’s spring/summer 2005 collection. The dress featured a ruched waist and was worn by Cyrus while performing “Stars Are Blind” with Hilton and Sia. What’s even more intriguing is that Hilton also wore the same designer for the performance, donning a pink metal mesh fabric dress that bore resemblance to the one she wore at the finale of Versace’s spring/summer 2023 show in the previous year.

Cyrus dazzled everyone with her flawless fashion sense at the event. She didn’t stick to just one Versace outfit for the night, though. She started off the show in an eye-catching one-shoulder green and orange dress that had a light cape detail. The dress, which reminded one of the Greek goddesses, was originally part of Versace’s spring/summer 2006 collection, and Gemma Ward first modeled it on the runway over 15 years ago.

During the Versace fashion trio, Miley Cyrus brought a playful vibe by donning a frilly outfit, which featured a bustier top with sheer sleeves and a rose-covered miniskirt. This ensemble was taken from the brand’s spring/summer 1993 collection and was the only time she wore separates at the event. The unique combination made her look stand out, adding another glamorous look to her collection.

During her performance with Dolly Parton, Miley Cyrus made quite an impression with her exceptional fashion choices. One of her outfits featured a Yves Saint Laurent dress from the 1991 collection, which was a sheer, one-shouldered mini dress adorned with embellished florals and a gigantic hot pink feathered sleeve that evoked memories of The Muppets. Meanwhile, Dolly Parton complemented her perfectly in a matching hot pink and black ensemble. Another outfit that garnered attention was the Bob Mackie dress worn by Cyrus while singing “Midnight Sky” and “Party Up the Street.” This classic Mackie dress paid homage to Sweet Charity and had hand-painted silk in gold, green, orange, and blue colors. The fringe detailing on the neckline and hem created an earthy and psychedelic look. All in all, Cyrus’s fashion choices were as stunning as her performances.

Miley Cyrus showcased her fashion versatility during her performance by donning outfits from different designers. One of the standout pieces was Tom Ford’s 1996 collection for Gucci, originally modeled by Linda Evangelista, which was a modish green and black mini dress worn while singing “Everybody’s Coming To My House” with Byrne. She also made a statement by wearing a modern custom sleeveless jersey mini dress with side cutouts revealing a thong detail, made by Gucci, during her performance of “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll” with Parton. The outfit was completed with sheer leopard print gloves that matched Parton’s black and leopard look.

Even though the show was over, Miley Cyrus still rocked her vintage style. She announced her upcoming single titled “Flowers” during the show, and it will be released later this month. In the promotional video for the song, Cyrus is seen strolling through Los Angeles wearing a gold, draped dress that exposes her midriff. The dress was originally part of Yves Saint Laurent’s fall/winter 1991 collection but was later remade for their spring 2002 haute couture collection and now has found a new life with Cyrus. For the past few years, Miley has been incorporating vintage fashion into her wardrobe with the help of her stylist Kenneth and continues to do so in exciting ways. Her decision to introduce her new era of music in another iconic vintage look suggests that this trend will continue into the future. We can’t wait to see what other vintage outfits she has in store.
