Shakira has faced quite a few tough times in the past year. First, she was betrayed by Gerard Pique, the father of her two children. And then she became the subject of an investigation by a Spanish court for alleged fraud in income and wealth taxes.
The famous singer, who was facing 8 years in prison, finally had a smile on their face after a long time.
Shakira was honored with 8 awards at the ‘Premios Juventud 2023’ awards ceremony held in Puerto Rico, including ‘Best Female Singer’ and ‘Best Song’. The singer attended the ceremony with her sons Sasha and Milan.
“I found out I was cheated on while my father was in intensive care,” said Shakira. She revealed that she learned about Gerard Pique’s infidelity while her father, William Mebarak Chadid, was in intensive care. “Everything happened all at once. My family was falling apart.
“I found out about being betrayed from the newspaper while my father was in intensive care,” Shakira said. She expressed her belief that she wouldn’t be able to get through the difficult process, stating, “The man I love the most in my life is my father… He was slipping away from me when I needed him the most. I couldn’t talk to him or seek advice from my closest friend,” she said.
