Shakira’s Latest Hit Single ‘No More Tears for Women’ Soars to the Top of Latin Music Charts

Shakira’s latest album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, has taken the music world by storm as it climbs the Billboard charts. This album, her twelfth studio release in a career that has spanned over four decades, has claimed the number one position on both the Top Latin Albums and Latin Pop Albums charts as of April 6th. Not stopping there, it has also made its mark on other charts by debuting at No. 2 on Top Album Sales, No. 4 on Vinyl Albums, and No. 13 on the prestigious Billboard 200 chart.

Shakira’s most recent album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, dropped on March 22 under Sony Music Latin and has racked up an impressive 34,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. during the tracking week of March 22-28, according to Luminate. Streaming accounted for 19,000 units, equating to a whopping 26.73 million official on-demand streams of the album’s tracks. Album sales contributed almost 15,000 units, with the remaining 500 units coming from track-equivalent album units. This achievement marks Shakira’s seventh No. 1 album on the Top Latin Albums chart, solidifying her status as the first woman to achieve this milestone across four decades. Only one other artist, Alejandro Fernández, has pulled off a similar feat. Moreover, Shakira now shares the title with Jenni Rivera and Selena for the most No. 1 albums by a woman on the Top Latin Albums chart. Las Mujeres has also snagged the No. 2 spot on the Top Album Sales chart, moving 15,000 copies in its debut week. Impressively, the album has landed at No. 4 on the Vinyl Albums chart, selling 6,000 vinyl LPs – marking Shakira’s first top 10 placement on that chart. Three new tracks from Las Mujeres have broken into the Hot Latin Songs chart, with “Puntería” featuring Cardi B leading the charge at No. 3. This marks Shakira’s biggest debut on the chart since “TQG” with Karol G premiered at No. 1 in 2023. The Hot Latin Songs chart ranks the week’s most popular Latin tunes based on a mix of streaming, airplay, and sales data.

“Puntería” made quite the splash on the Hot Latin Songs chart, entering at an impressive No. 3 spot. The song’s success can be attributed to its strong streaming numbers and radio airplay. As the eighth single from the album, it managed to rack up 6.6 million streams in the U.S., landing at No. 6 on the Latin Streaming Songs chart. On top of that, “Puntería” also saw 3,000 digital downloads in the same week, securing a commanding No. 1 position on the Latin Digital Song Sales chart and a respectable No. 10 placement on the overall Digital Song Sales chart.

Meanwhile, the track “In Parentheses,” with Grupo Frontera, has climbed to the 22nd position on the music charts. Also, her recent team-up with Rauw Alejandro on “Cohete” has entered the charts at No. 48, building on the success of their last hit “Te Felicito,” which reached No. 10 in 2022.
