In honor of her visit, a section of the reserve has been named “Shakira Mubarak” after one of her family names, as confirmed by Tannourine’s mayor Bahaa Harb. This marks the third visit by the singer to Lebanon, having previously visited in 2003 and 2011 for a concert.
