The talented Colombian singer was honored with the Woman of the Year award at Billboard’s Women in Latin Music Awards, which took place at the Watsco Center in Miami, where she resides with her children.
Gerard Pique’s former partner was honored by Maluma and delivered a speech that captured everyone’s attention.
She expressed, “Every woman eventually reaches a point where she no longer relies on others for love and self-acceptance. The quest for a partner is replaced by the quest to discover one’s true self, shifting from striving for perfection to embracing authenticity.”
Shakira has embraced the image of a strong, independent woman, earning praise from the audience at the Watsco Center. “This past year has shown me just how powerful women truly are,” she expressed. “We are more courageous and self-reliant than we give ourselves credit for, breaking free from societal expectations of dependence.”
