Reflecting on the final episode, the songstress confessed, “I was completely overwhelmed witnessing it unfold before my eyes because it resonated with me on a personal level. I have indeed experienced similar situations.” Gomez, who also served as an executive producer for the Netflix series, emphasized its significant impact on her.
“When the production of the show started, I was personally going through a challenging period in my life. I took some time off and spent 90 days away from everything. During that time, I had a chance to meet numerous young individuals in a certain facility who openly discussed the very same issues that the characters in the show are dealing with,” she elaborated. The show primarily revolves around a teenager who tragically takes her own life but leaves behind a series of tapes detailing how her classmates were involved in her demise.
“I was utterly perplexed. I lacked any semblance of certainty regarding my future identity and the path I would ultimately forge,” she expressed. “My desire to be involved in this arises from my belief that it aligns with their desires and necessities.”
Gomez is also currently involved in creating fresh tunes, delighting her fans by teasing a sneak peek of an upcoming song just last week.
