“Rihanna’s Super Bowl Performance: Her Unbelievable Experience and Thoughts”

In a recent interview with ET’s Kevin Frazier, Rihanna expressed her excitement over her upcoming Super Bowl LVII halftime show performance. She revealed that with being a new mom to her 8-month-old son, and receiving her first-ever Oscar nomination for Best Original Song, it feels like a lot is happening all at once. Despite feeling overwhelmed, Rihanna expressed her gratitude for these opportunities and is still in disbelief that she will be performing at the Super Bowl. Rihanna and A$AP Rocky welcomed their baby boy in May of last year, and her Oscar nomination comes from her song “Lift Me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

At a recent press conference, Rihanna shared that returning to the limelight can be daunting, but performing at the Super Bowl felt like the right opportunity at the right time. She jokingly mentioned her initial hesitation when she was asked to perform again this year, considering she was just three months postpartum and not sure if she was in the right state of mind to make significant decisions.

After becoming a mother, she gained confidence that she could take on any challenge that comes her way. This newfound sense of certainty about herself and her abilities was strengthened by her experiences as a parent. Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic captured this moment beautifully.

After becoming a mother, something shifts within you and you feel like you can conquer the world, according to Rihanna. She revealed that performing at the Super Bowl, one of the biggest stages in the world, was scary but exhilarating. It had been seven years since she last graced the stage, so it was a challenge that she was excited to take on. For her, this year’s performance was important for representation and for her son to see. The most challenging part of preparing for the performance was deciding which songs to include in the setlist as she tried to pack 17 years of music into 13 minutes. Despite the difficulty, she is determined to make it a celebration of her musical career. Super Bowl LVII will air on Feb. 12 on Fox, and ETonline.com will provide exclusive Super Bowl content. Additionally, CBS Sports has full coverage of the event.
