Rihanna Makes a Dazzling Red Carpet Comeback in a Vibrant Purple Fur Ensemble

The queen of high-low fashion is back

Rihanna put a sporty twist on her signature high-low style for to walk the red carpet at a Fenty x Puma launch party last night in Los Angeles.

The singer and fashion mogul looked incredibly cool in her laid-back fit, which featured bold electric-purple accents throughout. The look included a shaggy lavender fur coat, layered over a quilted dark blue button-up jacket from Chanel, with an embroidered speckled red collar and pockets. The outerwear perfectly coordinated with the shoe of the night: the Fenty x Puma Creeper Phatty sneakers. Rihanna wore a dusty purple iteration with a dark brown gum sole.

She completed her look with a white tank top with red varsity lettering and white lace trim on the V neckline, faded wide-leg R13 jeans with a distressed hem and chains attached to the belt loops, layers of colorful beaded choker necklaces, and an array of hoop earrings. For glam, she wore smoked-out lavender eye shadow, which also brought out the purple in her ensemble.

Rihanna is known for her luxurious take on high-low fashion, often mixing relaxed attire with some of today’s most coveted archival or fresh-off-the-runway pieces.

Earlier this month, she debuted yet another unexpected fashion combo by pairing baggy jeans with a neck-lengthening multi-strand choker made of dozens of champagne-colored pearls—a unique Christian Dior piece from John Galliano’s Fall 2007 couture show. She also wore another long pearl necklace, from the Briony Raymond estate, which featured gold, emerald, diamond, and ruby rondelles.
