Messi’s Astonishing $1.6 Million Watch Collection Inspires Footballers’ Fantasies

Leo has a diverse collection of luxury watches, encompassing renowned brands like Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, and even Jacob & Co.

LIONEL MESSI’S TIMEPIECES FROM ROLEX

Throughout the majority of his impressive career, Lionel Messi showcased his exceptional skills on the field while proudly representing FC Barcelona. Nevertheless, in a surprising move in 2021, Messi made headlines when he decided to join Paris Saint-Germain, popularly known as PSG, in the French Ligue 1. Upon arriving in Paris to announce this exciting news, the football superstar sported a unique ensemble – a shirt with the phrase “ici c’est Paris” (meaning “this is Paris”) and an exquisite rose gold Rolex Yacht-Master adorning his wrist. The specific timepiece he wore, the Ref. 126655, boasts a 40mm size and carries a retail price of $28,050. However, its demand on the secondary market has surged, with prices reaching as high as $32,000 USD and beyond.

Messi’s love for timeless elegance is evident in a recent post he shared on Instagram in December 2021, where he can be seen sporting a stylish Rolex Daytoпa alongside his wife, Aпtoпela Roccυzzo Messi. This particular version of the Daytoпa is highly coveted and considered one of the most sought-after models available. With a ceramic bezel and a pristine white “paпda” dial, it exudes sophistication and class. Although the Daytoпa Ref. 116500 has a retail price of $14,550, it is currently commanding a premium on the grey market, with prices reaching around $35,000 USD or even higher.

Messi was recently seen back in Spain enjoying his time in Ibiza. Rather than opting for a high-end Rolex, he decided to wear the discontinued 41mm Rolex Oyster Perpetual with a vibrant yellow dial. The Oyster Perpetual, known for being Rolex’s most affordable option, retails at $6,150 USD for the 41mm model. However, due to its discontinuation, this specific Oyster Perpetual model, Ref. 124300, holds a high value in the secondary market, with prices around $24,000 USD. It seems that Messi may have chosen this more budget-friendly Rolex while partying in Ibiza, possibly due to the recent increase in thefts targeting luxury timepieces.

Although I’m generally not a fan of two-tone watches, I find Messi’s two-tone Rolex Datejust to be quite exceptional. It could be because of the stunning burst grey dial or the fact that the gold on the watch is rose gold instead of the traditional yellow gold (which I personally prefer). Regardless, Leo Messi’s 36mm two-tone Rolex Datejust is truly a beautiful timepiece. Referred to as Ref. 126231, it has a retail price of $12,300 USD and is currently being sold for similar prices on the secondary market.

Let’s take a look at the final Rolex watch from Messi’s collection, and boy is it pricey! Messi has been seen rocking a stunning white gold Rolex Submariner Ref. 116659SABR, featuring a striking blue dial and bezel adorned with 27 exquisite blue baguette sapphires and 11 baguette diamonds serving as hour markers. This luxurious timepiece doesn’t stop there – it also showcases diamonds embellishing the lugs and crown guard. With a whopping retail price of $92,000, it’s no surprise that this watch is currently being sold on the secondary market for just under $200,000 USD.

Back in his early career, Messi could often be seen wearing an Audemars Piguet watch. This wasn’t just a coincidence, as Messi was actually an ambassador for AP, starting in 2010. Although Messi no longer represents the brand, during his sponsorship years, he could be spotted wearing some truly exquisite timepieces. One particular model that Messi was photographed wearing was the Royal Oak Jumbo Extra Thin Ref. 15202 in white, which was released around 2010 (it’s worth noting that the 15202 has been discontinued, and its successor, the 16202, is currently only available with a highly sought-after blue dial). Like many Royal Oaks, the price of this watch has significantly increased over time and is now being sold on the secondary market for approximately $75,000 USD.

During Messi’s partnership with Audemars Piguet, he was involved in designing a watch. This led to the creation of the AP Royal Oak Chronograph Leo Messi Ref. 26325PL. Messi worked together with the brand to create three different chronographs. Limited editions of the watch were released, with 500 pieces made in steel, 400 in rose gold, and 100 in platinum. All the watches featured a tantalum bezel. The platinum version, which is the most rare, is currently valued at approximately $125,000 USD in the secondary market.

Lionel Messi has recently partnered with Jacob & Co. following his successful collaboration with Audemars Piguet. Known for their bold designs and lavish use of gemstones, Jacob & Co. brings a unique touch to Messi’s collaboration. Together, Messi and Jacob & Co. have created the exquisite Jacob & Co. Epic X Messi Chrono Messi watch. At the 6 o’clock position on the dial, you can spot Messi’s name and a stylized M. The watch features a color palette inspired by Messi’s home country, Argentina, with shades of light blue and white, reflecting the colors of the national flag. Limited to only 180 pieces, this exclusive timepiece was priced at $28,000 USD.

JacoƄ & Co. introduces an exquisite timepiece, the Epic X Chroпograph Messi, featuring luxurious gold accents on both the case and dial. This opulent watch was priced at $45,000 USD and was meticulously crafted, with only 180 units available globally.

JacoƄ & Co. went the extra mile and created a new and distinct version of their collaboration. This particular creation showcases a gorgeous case made of white gold and titanium, adorned with an elegant bezel adorned with baguette diamonds. If you’re interested, this exclusive piece can currently be found in the secondary market for approximately $190,000 USD.

I am excited to showcase another stunning piece from Messi’s collection by JacoƄ & Co. What sets this particular watch apart is its unique and distinctive design. Messi has been spotted wearing the incredible JacoƄ & Co. Epic SF24 ToυrƄilloп. This timepiece not only showcases a patented split flap 24-timezoпe display but also features a flyiпg toυrƄilloп, aпd a υпiqυe case desigп, making it truly one-of-a-kind. Additionally, the time display on this watch is easy to read, adding to its overall appeal. With a retail price of $142,000 USD, the Epic SF24 is a true masterpiece.

Lionel Messi has been spotted wearing Patek Philippe watches more often since joining PSG, perhaps due to the end of his collaborations with Audemars Piguet and Jacob & Co. One particular Patek Philippe model he has been seen wearing is the 40.5mm 18k rose gold Nautilus Chronograph. This stunning timepiece features a black gradient dial adorned with luminous hour markers in gold. The chronograph complication includes a 60-minute and 12-hour mono-counter, while the watch itself boasts a power reserve of 55 hours. Currently, the Nautilus Ref. 5980/1R-001 is fetching between $275,000 and $375,000 on the secondary market.

In 2017, Messi was seen wearing the discontinued stainless steel Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref. 5711/1A-011 with a white “Piano” dial at the Balloon D’or event. Due to its rarity and the fact that it has been discontinued, this watch commands a high price in the secondary market. If you wish to purchase one, you can expect to pay around $185,000 USD.

Recently, the famous soccer player Messi was seen flaunting yet another popular Patek Philippe timepiece, known as the Aquaunaut. Donning a casual outfit consisting of a blue PSG t-shirt, he effortlessly accessorized with the matching Patek Philippe Aquaunaut Chronograph Ref. 5968G. This remarkable wristwatch, crafted from exquisite 18k white gold and adorned with a striking blue dial, showcases a unique 60-minute counter at 6 o’clock, cleverly designed in the same octagonal shape as its case. While the retail price of the Aquaunaut Ref. 5968G stands at a staggering $69,190 USD, it is currently being sold for approximately $175,000 USD on the secondary market.
