Messi and Argentina’s U20 Squad Gear Up for 2024 Olympics Clash Against Mbappe

It has been reported that Lionel Messi and Argentina’s U20 team are set to participate in the 2024 Olympics in Paris, which could lead to a showdown with Mbappe. This is the latest development in the exciting world of international soccer.

Lionel Messi has been a key player for Argentina’s national team, helping them win the Copa America, the Finalissima, and the FIFA World Cup in succession, cementing his status as a great player. Despite being an indispensable member of the team, Argentina U20 coach Javier Mascherano has recently discussed Messi’s potential participation in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

In an interview with TyC Sports, Mascherano stated that “Messi is always welcome if he wants to participate, but first we have to qualify.” He has never closed the door on the possibility of serving his country in some capacity. Mascherano emphasized his special bond with Messi, saying that he deeply cares about him.

However, the Argentinian U20 team will have to face tough qualifying competitions against Paraguay, Peru, Chile, and Uruguay in order to secure their spot in the Olympics. It’s widely known that men’s football at the Olympics allows for up to three players who exceed the age limit, meaning that Lionel Messi will be able to fully compete in Paris in 2020.

Many people agree with Mascherano that having Messi in the Olympics would be beneficial. Even the President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, is quite enthusiastic about M10’s participation. Bach expressed admiration, saying “it would be fantastic if Messi could attend. He would be the only soccer player in history to win two gold medals and a World Cup, which would make him a record-setting bridge player.”

Messi was once a member of the Argentine team that won an Olympic gold medal in 2008 during the Beijing games. It is speculated that Messi may participate in the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris, but ultimately the decision lies with the owner of the seven Golden Balls.
