Closing the chapter on Play allows Perry to venture into a new phase of her career, and she is excited about the potential for her story to continue. One of the advantages of performing through the residency is that it provides her with a more stable home life, especially now that she is a mother to her two-year-old daughter, Daisy, whom she shares with her fiance Orlando Bloom. Perry finds joy in being able to drop off her daughter at preschool and then go perform in Las Vegas. She returns late at night, around 11:30 pm, and still takes the time to make her daughter’s lunches.

Perry’s Play residency at Resorts World Las Vegas began on December 29, 2021, and has continued through 2022 and into 2023. Inspired by films like Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, Pee-wee’s Playhouse, and Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, the show is described as larger than life, with a kooky and campy atmosphere. The setlist consists of 19 songs, including popular hits like E.T., Dark Horse, California Gurls, Waking Up in Vegas, I Kissed a Girl, Never Really Over, Teenage Dream, Roar, and the show-stopping Firework.
