She will play the character of a war veteran who suffers from traumatic brain injury in an upcoming movie directed by Lila Neugebauer. According to Collider, the storyline revolves around the character’s struggles to recover from her injuries after returning home from Afghanistan. The male lead for the movie is yet to be confirmed, although Brian Tyree Henry from Atlanta has been offered the role.

Lawrence will portray a US soldier who faces a traumatic brain injury in Afghanistan. The project will be produced by Lawrence, Scott Rudin, Eli Bush and Justine Polsky, and distributed by indie company A24 – the same company that worked on Greta Gerwig’s Lady Bird and Bo Burnham’s Eighth Grade. Production is scheduled to begin in June in New Orleans. Lawrence is also slated to appear in upcoming films Dark Phoenix and Bad Blood, based on the popular book.
