On Tuesday evening, Selena Gomez was spotted shooting a scene for her upcoming Hulu show Only Murders in the Building in NYC. The scene involved her co-stars Martin Short and Steve Martin, where Martin was being transported into an ambulance.
In Gotham, Gomez, who is 28 years old, was spotted wearing a fuzzy khaki coat, a black top, an orange checkered skirt, and some dark tights. She had her dark hair pulled back and rocked some black and dark yellow booties for the shoot.
In a casual fashion, Short, who is 71 years old, donned a khaki blazer, blue pants, and black sneakers, with his neatly groomed brown hair resembling that of Gomez’s. Meanwhile, Martin, who is 75 years old, was seen being carried onto an ambulance while sporting a long-sleeved blue blouse and a matching pork pie hat.
The man was secured to a hospital bed, sporting spectacles with brown rims and connected to a breathing machine. As per Hulu’s synopsis, the show centers around ‘three individuals who bond over their fascination with true crime and are suddenly immersed in one.’ Selena Gomez, who portrays Mabel, not only stars in the production but also serves as an executive producer. This marks her debut as a recurring character on the small screen since her tenure on Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place. Martin teamed up with John Hoffman to produce the ten-episode show available for streaming.
In a recent interview with Vogue, Martin praised the mature and nuanced performance of Gomez, noting her ability to tone down when necessary. The comedian also highlighted the compatibility of their acting styles, describing Gomez’s performance as nicely understated yet passionate, matching his and Short’s comedic approaches in past movies like Three Amigos! and Father of the Bride. Martin noted that although he and Short are more exuberant, Gomez serves as a strong and reliable foundation in their trio. Initially unsure if she would fit in with their dynamic, Martin now refers to them as the Three Musketeers.
Martin shared his excitement about the addition of Gomez to their project, stating that when they received a list of potential candidates, her name stood out as an obvious choice. He expressed his happiness in having her on board.
The main concern was whether or not they could acquire her for the show. They believed that she would enhance the program in various ways, with her talent being the most significant factor.
