ELLE, in a recent announcement, recognized the action star for her bravery in standing up to alleged mistreatment by Justice League replacement director Joss Whedon. Reportedly, Gal confronted Whedon when he became verbally abusive after she expressed concerns about dialogues for Wonder Woman in the movie. She disagreed with the aggressive tone and felt it didn’t match the character she had portrayed in the original Wonder Woman film. According to sources, Whedon threatened to make her look foolish in the movie.

Despite feeling scared, Gadot stood her ground and even sought a resolution by meeting with Warner Bros. chairman Kevin Tsujihara alongside Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins.

Reflecting on her sense of justice, she added, “When someone says something so shocking to you, it’s hard to process. If he said it to me, he probably said it to others too. I just felt it was important to speak out and let people know it’s not acceptable.”
