Post Malone was seen taking on a new role on Tuesday as he filmed scenes for his upcoming movie Cash Truck. The rapper, whose real name is Austin Richard Post, was spotted getting into character as a criminal and even participated in an intense shootout scene with his co-stars Jason Statham and Josh Hartnett. The trio will be appearing in the latest film by Guy Ritchie, which is sure to be action-packed and thrilling. It’s a change of pace for Post Malone, who is used to wielding a microphone instead of a handgun, but it looks like he’s embracing his new role with enthusiasm. We can’t wait to see him in action on the big screen!
In a recent sighting, famous rapper Post Malone, also known as Austin Richard Post, was caught on camera shooting scenes for his upcoming film, Cash Truck, in Los Angeles.
Oops! It looks like Jason Statham will be joining the cast of the movie too. In the image, he can be seen as an armed truck driver, taking aim in the midst of a heated fight involving Post Malone.
Initially, it seemed that Post Malone was going to play a villainous character attempting to hold up the truck. He was decked out in a black beanie, black and white button-up shirt, jeans, and black gloves, all the while holding his handgun steady.
Avoiding: It was observed that the artist behind Better Now was trying to avoid something and took cover while shooting.
Uh-oh! While dashing away, he glanced back anxiously to check if there was enough time for him to reach a secure spot.
Experiencing pure joy: Post was beaming ear to ear while relishing a delicious french breakfast outdoors, all while sporting his costume for the day. Immersing himself fully in his role, the singer was captured in action, swooping and dodging during his performance. The talented songwriter even took cover behind a construction palette as the truck drivers tried to fend off their attackers. During breaks, Post relaxed with his co-stars while savoring his coffee and smoking a cigarette.
Relaxed: While filming, Jason decided to take a stroll in his driver uniform and left his bulletproof vest behind. However, he didn’t seem to be worried at all as he pointed his gun confidently. His on-set outfit was all-black and armed, with an eagle patch on one of the sleeves of his black button-up. Josh also sported a similar outfit, but opted for a short sleeve style during his time on camera.
Josh Hartnett was spotted taking a stroll with a member of the film crew, apparently enjoying a well-deserved break from filming. The news of the film, titled “Cash Truck”, was first reported by Variety in November last year. MGM secured a major deal for the production at the American Film Market. Apart from Hartnett, the movie boasts a star-studded cast including Scott Eastwood, Holt McCallany, Jeffrey Donovan, and Laz Alonso. Interestingly, “Cash Truck” is actually a remake of the French flick “Le Convoyeur” that starred Jean Dujardin and Albert Dupontel.
Concealing: The MC crouches low while his teammate fires at their adversaries in a shot.
On set, Post Malone, Jason, and Josh were seen hanging out in between takes while Josh was getting some makeup touch-ups. Interestingly, this is not Post Malone’s first acting gig as he is set to make his debut in the upcoming film Wonderland, which is currently in post-production. The movie boasts an impressive cast including Mark Wahlberg, Alan Arkin, Iliza Shlesinger, Bookem Woodbine, Hope Wilson, James DuMont, and Winston Duke. Based on the novel by Robert B. Parker, Wonderland follows the story of Spenser who sets out to uncover the truth behind a murder and the rumors surrounding it.
During the American Music Awards last November, Post Malone stole the spotlight as he delivered an outstanding performance on stage.
