A beautician throttled a businesswoman in a bungled attack mistakenly believing she was complicit in child abuse.

Natalie Shelley, 37, ‘lost all grip of reality’ and burst into the £500,000 home of her neighbour and friend Celine Woodfield, 35.

She had initially called police in the unfounded belief that the events manager was involved in child abuse allegations together with her former partner.

Despite being told an officer would call her back she took the law into her own hands and decided to confront Ms Woodfield.

Shelley, who was described as usually gentle, placid, and loving – choked her until she could barely breathe and grabbed her hair and ‘yanked’ her head up and down before being pulled away by a third person.
