A Remarkable Achievement: Shakira’s Iconic Track ‘Whenever, Wherever’ Tops Charts 18 Years After Release

Shakira proves she’s still rocking it!

Even after almost two decades since its debut, the popular track “Whenever, Wherever” by the renowned Colombian artist, Shakira, has soared to the top spot on U.S. iTunes charts this Tuesday. Another one of her iconic songs, “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa),” released in 2010, also claimed an impressive position, reaching No. 6.

Shakira achieved great triumph in the United States during the early 2000s, as numerous of her songs climbed to the top of the music charts. However, it is worth noting that although both “Whenever, Wherever” and “Waka Waka” were widely acclaimed, they did not manage to secure the coveted No. 1 spot on the prestigious Billboard charts. The former reached a peak position of No. 6, while the latter reached a respectable No. 38.

Just two days after her dazzling performance alongside Jennifer Lopez at the Super Bowl halftime show in Miami, Shakira is experiencing a major comeback. This event holds immense significance as it marks the first time in history that two Latina women have co-headlined this spectacular show.

On her 43rd birthday, Shakira took to social media to express her gratitude towards her fans and team for an unforgettable gift. Alongside a photo of herself on stage, the singer acknowledged the overwhelming support she had received. She highlighted the dedication and talent of her team, emphasizing their crucial role in her success. Shakira also added a touch of pride, proclaiming that together, as Latinos, they achieved a monumental feat by scaling Kilimanjaro and etching their names in history. She concluded her heartfelt message by thanking her fans for their unwavering support, acknowledging that this accomplishment wouldn’t have been possible without them.
