Jolie’s character must confront her own conflicted maternal feelings towards Princess Aurora while simultaneously fighting against fairies and dealing with a rival queen named Ingrith, played by Michelle Pfeiffer. Ingrith causes a rift between the anti-heroine and Aurora when her son Prince Phillip returns to propose to the princess.
