The Influence of Motherhood: Scarlet Johansson’s Reflection on Her Latest Film Role Inspired by her Daughter’s Curiosity and Understanding

Scarlett Johansson found creative motivation from her daughter while taking on her latest role in the movie Transformers One. The actress, who lends her voice to the character Elita-1 in the animated film, revealed that her ten-year-old daughter Rose played a significant role in her preparation for the role.
“I often watch the movies that my daughter loves, whether they’re Disney films or something else,” Scarlett shared with the Daily Telegraph. She recalled a time when her daughter was captivated by the movie Sing, in which Scarlett voices the character Ash.
“I had to explain to her how it all works, how the characters are brought to life through animation. I thought it would be interesting for her to see the behind-the-scenes process and she found it absolutely fascinating,” the actress explained.
Along with Rose, Scarlett also has a three-year-old son named Cosmo, whom she shares with her comedian husband Colin Jost. She was previously married to Romain Dauriac from 2014 to 2017.

Colin Jost revealed that he learned a lot about parenting by observing his wife Scarlett Johansson with her daughter Rose, which inspired him in his role as a father. The couple’s relationship started in 2017, allowing Colin to witness Scarlett’s parenting skills with Rose before they welcomed their own son, Cosmo. Jost expressed admiration for Johansson’s mothering abilities, which played a major role in his falling in love with her. The pair first crossed paths when Scarlett hosted Saturday Night Live in 2006, but they didn’t begin dating until many years later.

The actress lent her voice to the character Elita-1 in the latest animated film Transformers One, with her ten-year-old daughter Rose playing an important role in the project as well. Just two years after meeting Jost on the set of SNL, Johansson would tie the knot with Reynolds in a whirlwind romance.

Following her divorce from Reynolds in 2011, Johansson found love once again when she started dating a French journalist and art dealer, whom she met through mutual friends in Paris, France the following year. Their relationship became public in November 2012, and they made it official by getting married in Philipsburg, Montana in October 2014, shortly after welcoming their daughter Rose into the world.

While balancing their time between New York City and Paris, the couple eventually decided to part ways in mid-2016, finalizing their divorce in September 2017.

Their paths crossed again 11 years after their first meeting, sparking rumors of a rekindled romance in May 2017 when Scarlett appeared on the SNL season finale. A warm embrace on stage and rumored kisses at the afterparty only fueled the speculation.

Colin eventually confirmed their relationship later that year when they made their public debut as a couple at the American Museum of Natural History Gala in New York City in November 2017. They then tied the knot in a small ceremony in October 2020 in the midst of the pandemic.

Their family grew with the arrival of their first child together, son Cosmo, in August 2021. During an interview, Colin couldn’t help but praise his wife for her ability to enjoy everyday activities like going to the supermarket incognito with a hat on.

He admired Scarlett’s ability to fly under the radar while still embracing ordinary tasks and finding joy in them, attributing her knack for blending in with her love for “normal stuff.”
