Jennifer Aniston has been making the most of her summer by relaxing on vacations with her friends, which is why she hasn’t been spotted out and about much. The 50-year-old actress from Friends recently popped up to discuss InStyle’s 25-year anniversary, showing off a stunning tan. In a virtual chat with InStyle’s editor-in-chief, Laura Brown, the star of Murder Mystery looked beautifully bronzed and radiant.
Glowing with radiance! Jennifer Aniston has been keeping a low profile this summer, soaking up the sun on vacations with her friends. It’s no wonder that the 50-year-old actress, best known for her role in Friends, looked stunning as she attended InStyle’s 25-year anniversary celebration this week, flaunting a beautiful tan.
In a recent Instagram post by Laura Brown, the head honcho of a popular fashion magazine, the lead actress of Murder Mystery showed off a sun-kissed glow as she got ready for a video call. Jen rocked a soft grey tank top, flaunting her well-defined arms adorned with gold bangles and a stylish Rolex watch. She paired the top with high-waisted jeans held together with a chic brown belt, topping off the look with a mix of necklaces for a laid-back yet sophisticated outfit. Her golden locks flowed down her shoulders, and even at 50, she exuded a youthful aura with flawless, ageless skin.
Jen’s outfit showcased her fashion sense, with a chic pale grey tank top highlighting her fit arms decked out in numerous gold bracelets and a trendy Rolex watch.
How chic is this: The ex-wife of Brad Pitt rocked a pair of high-waisted jeans, styled with a brown belt and adorned with several layered necklaces for a effortlessly cool outfit. Her golden locks flowed freely and, at the age of 50, she appeared incredibly radiant and ageless.
In the 1990s, Jennifer Aniston graced the cover of a magazine in May 1999, where she was photographed nude while cleverly using a sheet to cover her chest. This photo shoot took place while she was starring in the hit TV show, Friends. Aniston fondly remembered a previous InStyle cover story titled ‘What Is Sexy Now’, where her photos were separated into three parts – starting with her legs, then her torso, and finishing with her face. With a humorous touch, she joked about feeling like she had been sliced into three pieces and expressed gratitude for still being in one whole piece.
Just the legs: The famous star lightheartedly remarked on the design of a past InStyle cover story called ‘What Is Sexy Now’. With a hint of amusement, she pointed out that the first page showcased only her legs.
Comedic actress Jennifer Aniston once poked fun at her iconic three-piece spread on a magazine cover back in May 1999. In the photo, she humorously posed naked, strategically covering her chest with a sheet during the peak of her Friends fame.
The editor shared a throwback picture of Aniston on Instagram to commemorate the magazine’s anniversary, playfully asking ‘WHAT IS IT?!’ and recalling 15 past cover stars. Aniston is now collaborating with Reese Witherspoon on an Apple series centered around morning show hosts.
A decade ago, the magazine was published while she was starring on the popular television show Friends. Aniston also talked about her previous experiences with InStyle magazine in the interview. Looking back at all seven of my InStyle covers is like flipping through a yearbook. It’s strange yet wonderful to have these little mementos of my career. Growing up in this industry in front of everyone definitely has its challenges, especially going through adolescence with the world watching.
When Friends started in 1994, we were all full of excitement and innocence. None of us had any idea of the incredible success that was about to come our way. Courteney Cox recently posted a throwback photo on Instagram of us on a plane before the show even aired. I couldn’t really grasp the reality of that period. The amount of gratitude I have is simply overwhelming.
The young woman wearing the large earrings also had on a matching set of gold hoop earrings and a necklace.
In 1996, I achieved my first front cover feature in a magazine. It was an unreal experience filled with new and thrilling moments that I never thought would actually come true. I can vividly remember styling my short hair to look wet on that day, a hairstyle that I am proud of. I set big goals for myself! It took me some time to feel at ease in front of the camera. The initial photoshoot took place at my house, which helped calm my nerves. I recall striking poses and thinking to myself, “I need to figure this out.” It felt unnatural to me as it was so different from my everyday life. However, holding that very magazine in my hands was a memorable moment.
Thinking back on the 1990s always evokes a wave of nostalgia. It was a simpler time, characterized by a sense of safety in the world. We weren’t bombarded with information the way we are today. Even amid chaos, it wasn’t constantly in our faces. There was a more carefree atmosphere and a greater sense of human connection.
During that period, Fred Segal on Melrose was a trendy spot. I still treasure my Maharishi pants from that time, including a beautiful pair of orange ones with intricate embroidery and a dragon design on the back. I regret that I now only have one pair left.
A surprising update: The chief editor also shared a new photo of Jennifer for everyone to admire.
Thinking back on her time on Friends, Jennifer expressed, “Being on Friends really helped me gain confidence. It felt like a true exercise in trust. We all had each other’s backs, and it was comforting to have that support. I miss those days a lot. It was pure joy to have a job like that. I miss being surrounded by people I love and admire so much. Nowadays, I often find myself feeling nostalgic. Anything can make me feel sentimental, even something as simple as Fred Segal. I have no idea why that one hit me. [laughs]”
Recalling a magazine cover shoot from 1999, she laughed as she remembered, “I remember posing on the cover with just a sheet. It’s funny how I was labeled as ‘sexy.’ Personally, I always thought Lauren Hutton was sexy. The whole bombshell thing wasn’t really my style. I found natural, cute, and funny to be sexy, you know? At that time, I think we were expanding our definitions of what sexy meant, so it was nice to be included in that category. But it’s not like I suddenly defined myself as ‘sexy’ or enrolled in a ‘sexy’ school. Some days you feel attractive, and some days you don’t.”
Reflecting on her past fashion choices, Jennifer admitted, “Looking back, I had some really memorable looks. It’s always fun to reminisce. The positive side of being in the public eye is being able to look back on those moments. You have to take the good along with the bad! But I think the best part of walking the red carpet is when it’s all over. The entrance is like, ‘Ugh,’ and the exit is like, ‘Ahh.’”
In the past, she opened up about how she found her confidence while working on Friends, likening it to a trust exercise where the cast provided unwavering support. Although she fondly remembers that period, she now values living in the moment and taking pleasure in the small things, such as observing the roses in her garden bloom.
At present, her primary focus is on attaining inner peace and pursuing her creative aspirations. She takes pride in her latest project, The Morning Show, which pushed her emotionally but reignited her passion for acting. Feeling like she has finally honed in on her creative essence, she embraces her skills and finds gratification in her work.
When reflecting on her personal journey, she sums up herself in three words during different phases of her life: “Sweet, Naïve, Young” in 1996, and “Strong, Knowing, Excited” now. During video chats, she interacts with fellow celebrities like Jennifer Garner, Halle Berry, Meg Ryan, Michelle Pfeiffer, Demi Moore, and Drew Barrymore, with Julianne Moore gracing the cover.
Great work: The latest movie Murder Mystery, featuring Adam Sandler on Netflix, was a huge hit with audiences.
