The Mystery of Travis Kelce’s Absence from Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Lisbon

Contrary to rumors that Travis Kelce would be jetting off to Europe to catch up with Taylor Swift in Portugal and then head to the Monaco Grand Prix, he decided to stay put in the United States. The Kansas City Chiefs star did make a move though, trading in Missouri for Texas. Over the weekend, he was spotted hanging out with fellow teammate Patrick Mahomes at a basketball game between the Dallas Mavericks and the Minnesota Timberwolves in Dallas on May 26. Later on, Kelce was seen enjoying a meal with friends at the Mediterranean eatery Saaya.

Swift took a break from the limelight over the weekend, enjoying some downtime away from the stage. She took to Instagram on Sunday to express her gratitude to the fans who attended her shows in Lisbon on Friday and Saturday. In her post, she gushed about how Portugal felt like home to her for the first time and how the fans’ love and energy made a lasting impression on her. She ended her post with a heartfelt “Muito obrigada 🇵🇹” to show her thanks.

Tomorrow and Thursday, Swift is set to have two concerts in Madrid, Spain, followed by performances in Lyon, France on Sunday and Monday. It is unsure when Kelce will meet up with Swift again, as the couple has yet to publicly reveal their plans. However, Kelce is scheduled to be in Cannes, France on June 20 to record an episode of his podcast, New Heights, during the Cannes Lion International Festival of Creativity. It is possible that he may accompany Swift for her U.K. shows before or after this work commitment.

Kelce is enjoying his off-season until July 23, when he will join the Chiefs’ training camp. According to a report from Us Weekly on May 23, Kelce wrapped up filming for Ryan Murphy’s new series Grotesquerie. Besides this project, he hasn’t mentioned any other film or TV commitments keeping him in the States.

According to a source who spoke to Us Weekly, Kelce is planning to make regular trips to Europe to be with Swift. After their vacation in Lake Como, Italy in mid-May, Kelce returned to the U.S. and missed Swift’s shows in Stockholm from May 17-19. Despite this, he was spotted in Kansas City hosting his music festival, Kelce Jam on May 18. The source revealed that Kelce wants to show his support for Swift as much as possible and will be going back and forth between the U.S. and Europe whenever he has the chance. The couple has been enjoying their time in Europe together and seem to be having a great time.
