In the Netflix sci-fi action film “Atlas” directed by Brad Peyton, Jennifer Lopez takes on the role of a data analyst named Atlas who must utilize AI to combat an evil robot threatening the Earth, played by Simu Liu. Reflecting on the film at its premiere in Los Angeles, Lopez expressed how the movie effectively showcases the potential dangers and benefits of AI. Lopez shared her personal experience of AI being used in a manipulative way, citing instances where her image was altered to sell products she had no knowledge of.

Lopez emphasized the importance of respecting AI while remaining open to its possibilities. She commended movies like “Atlas” for presenting a balanced perspective on the subject. Co-star Sterling K. Brown, who plays a military officer alongside Atlas, praised Lopez for her strong work ethic and dedication on set. Despite their characters being battered and bruised in certain scenes, Brown recalls pleasant conversations with Lopez in between takes, including anecdotes about her time as a Fly Girl on “In Living Color.”

“Atlas” can be streamed on Netflix, where it has garnered a spot among the top 10 most-watched movies over Memorial Day weekend.
