Kim Kardashian has yet to address Taylor Swift’s latest songs, “thanK you aIMee” and “Cassandra,” which appear to be about her. However, sources close to Kardashian have revealed that she is confused by Swift’s continued focus on their 2016 feud.
According to an insider, Kardashian is completely unbothered and believes it’s time for Swift to let go and move on. She can’t understand why Swift keeps bringing up the past when it’s been so long. Another source from Entertainment Tonight added that Kim has moved on from their feud and isn’t fazed by Swift’s song “thanK you aIMee.” The whole drama is ancient history for her, and while she respects Taylor’s talent, she’s not actively seeking to reconcile their differences at the moment.
Kardashian has yet to issue a public apology for the events involving Swift in the summer of 2016. At that time, Kardashian shared snippets of a phone call between her ex-husband Kanye West and Swift regarding his contentious lyrics in the song “Famous.” Swift insisted that she never agreed to the line “I made that bitch famous,” but Kardashian’s clips seemed to suggest otherwise. It wasn’t until 2020 when the full video of the call was released, shedding more light on the situation.
Kardashian stood by her initial stance even after the full video was released. In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), she made it clear that her main issue with the situation was Taylor Swift’s publicist lying about Kanye West not asking for permission. Kardashian emphasized that the conversation did take place and she wanted everyone to see that. The use of the word “bitch” was never denied to have happened without Swift’s permission. The dispute was always about whether a phone call occurred and the context of the discussion. Swift’s publicist, Tree Paine, retorted by highlighting that taking parts out of the conversation constituted editing. Kardashian did not provide any further response to the matter.
In the near future of 2024, it appears that Swift is still grappling with the aftermath of her previous downfall. Reflecting on her situation, she shared with Time magazine in December 2023, “Let’s be clear – my livelihood was snatched away from me. It all stemmed from a carefully orchestrated scheme, involving an illicitly recorded conversation, twisted by Kim Kardashian and thrust into the public eye to paint me as a deceiver. This ordeal pushed me to dark mental depths I had never experienced before. I sought refuge in a foreign land, cloistered in a rented abode for a year. I shunned phone conversations out of fear, distrusted those closest to me, and ultimately isolated myself. I hit rock bottom, hard.”
