Drake splurges on $65M nature-inspired mansion for his cherished grandson

The latest addition to the upscale Trousdale Estates neighborhood in Beverly Hills, famous singer Aubrey “Drake” Graham, has caused quite a stir in the area. Drake, who has called the gated Hidden Hills community his home for the past decade, seems to be temporarily renting a place in the prestigious 90210 zip code. Is a potential permanent relocation on the horizon for Drake? Following in the footsteps of fellow artist The Weeknd, maybe it’s not such a bad idea after all.

The Canadian native is infamous for his love of luxurious homes. Records show that his mansion in Toronto spans 50,000 square feet, and his Hidden Hills property includes three connected houses. Another lavish property in Beverly Hills, built this year by the prestigious architecture firm SAOTA, features a dining room, a courtyard partially underground, and a stunning 20-foot stone waterfall encircling a 15-foot tall olive tree imported from Italy by a team of 15 people using a crane. The waterfall originates from an exterior moat.

The cost of all this commotion is quite steep. With its use of natural elements like the stunning olive tree centerpiece and waterfall design, the house was marketed as a “nature-inspired” residence. While the mansion, known as “Elementi,” is no longer listed for sale, it remains a mystery just how much Drake is shelling out to reside in the luxurious abode.

As per public records, the half-acre property was last purchased for $15 million in 2014 and is situated on a prominent Trousdale elevation. The current home was constructed on spec by luxury development company Luxford Investment Group for the owner, an LLC linked to billionaire Chinese film producer and art collector Wɑng Zhongjun. Real estate agent Michael Chen oversees the operations of Luxford Investment Group.

Drake’s Instagram posts and stories from his new contemporary residence suggest that he is pleased with his new abode. The 18,000-square-foot property features a separate catering kitchen equipped with Viking appliances, a beautifully curved spiral staircase, a movie theater, custom Minotti furniture, and a fully customized kitchen furnished with high-end Gaggenau appliances and a luxurious marble island.

Additionally, the owner’s private apartment boasts a closet/dressing area the size of a store, two bathrooms adorned with exotic marble types, and a 400-square-foot private balcony complete with a jacuzzi that appears to be suspended above the hillside below.
