Scarlett Johansson, the renowned Hollywood actress at the age of 38, recently expressed in an interview that she chooses to steer clear of social media due to her perceived fragility. She stated, “I can’t bring myself to use social media because I feel too fragile. My mind is too delicate, like a vulnerable flower. I already have enough stress in my life.”

During a brief experiment with social media, Johansson realized that she could easily spend up to 20 minutes scrolling through a friend’s profile. This realization further reinforced her belief that social media is simply a waste of precious time. Moreover, she confessed that comparing her life to others on social platforms often left her feeling inadequate, like she lacked the freedom and spontaneity that others seemed to possess in their daily lives.

In addition to her thoughts on social media, Johansson opened up about her experience with motherhood. She compared it to being in an emotionally abusive relationship. The talented actress, who has an 8-year-old daughter from her previous marriage to journalist Romain Dauriac and a 2-year-old son with her current husband, comedian Colin Jost, shared this insight in the same interview.

She had previously believed that being a mother was a great experience, but the difficulties that people talked about finally became a reality for her. Johansson compared her experience to being in an emotionally abusive relationship, as the tantrums and crying of young children can be incredibly overwhelming and unpredictable. She admitted to having moments when she felt like she was going crazy and experienced constant emotional fluctuations. Johansson acknowledged that being a child is not easy either, as they have to constantly adapt to the changes that come with growing up, leading to frequent shifts in their emotions. Despite the challenges, she still considers having children to be a wonderful thing, finding them to be incredibly loving and adorable.
