The experience was so devastating that there were moments when she found herself bedridden and plagued by depression.
Interestingly, Shakira reveals that she and her husband, Gerard Piqué, had never experienced as many disagreements as they did during the period when she had to refrain from speaking in order to save her voice.

Despite medical professionals recommending surgery, I remained unconvinced of its effectiveness. In an attempt to find alternative solutions, I turned to hypnosis, meditation, and even made a pilgrimage to Lourdes in hopes of obtaining holy water to aid in my healing. To my astonishment, my voice miraculously returned without the need for an operation, and I am immensely grateful for this unexpected turn of events.
