Discover the Amazing Cat with Four Ears, a Single Eye, and a Determined Heart in Search of a Forever Home.

Georgi Anderson, the owner of Frankie, shares how he was born in a suburban household to a mother who lived in the wild. Although he was discovered with a sister who was alive, it’s likely that other siblings didn’t make it. Before being taken to the shelter for medical care and relocation, Frankie and his brother were looked after by the household owners to help them socialize and gain weight. Frankie’s unique feature is his four ears, but he also has an overbite which gives his face a sharp appearance. When Frankie came to the shelter, he had two eyes, but one had burst and needed to be removed. Additionally, his hind legs have joint issues causing him to walk with his knees sliding in and out. Frankie also struggles with dental issues due to his overbite, which pierced through his mouth. He requires surgery for his knees, but it’s costly, so Georgi is saving up for it. To reduce the height of his lower canines, Frankie has already undergone dental work.

By taking out the eye, his life was spared from the infection that would have otherwise spread and eventually caused him to pass away.

While working at the animal shelter, a cute little dog named Frankie arrived and I was asked to foster him for a week. Being a foster carer, I agreed to take care of him while he recovered from his eye removal surgery. Although it wasn’t his physical appearance that caught my attention, it was his charming personality and inquisitive nature that made me fall in love with him instantly. When I went to see him before his treatment, I was taken aback by his kind nature. After bringing him home for recovery, I sensed that he was a unique dog, but couldn’t quite put my finger on what made him so special.

How you feel physically can really impact how you go about your day. In the case of my furry friend, his tiny front ears don’t affect his ability to hear where he’s going much, as they act like cute little ear warmers for his regular ears. One thing to note is that, while he’s adapted pretty well to only having one eye, his night vision isn’t quite as sharp as some of my other feline pals. Lastly, his legs may cause him to have a bit of a wider walking stance, but it doesn’t seem to cause him any discomfort or hinder his playtime abilities.

The primary factor that causes difficulty for him in consuming wet food is his mouth. He struggles to grasp it firmly, and as a result, he has to use his tongue to pick up the kibble and move it towards his mouth instead of simply putting it in his mouth.
