Dua Lipa wore the most expensive diamond necklace from Tiffany & Co at the Met Gala event this year. As one of the co-hosts of the event, she wanted to pay tribute to the legendary fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld. In order to stand out and look glamorous, she chose a stunning white tweed gown with black trim by Chanel, which was originally worn by Claudia Schiffer in the high-end fashion collection for fall 1992. However, it was Dua Lipa’s accessories, particularly the astonishing diamond necklace she wore around her neck, that had an interesting story behind it.

The white diamond weighing over 100 carats on Dua Lipa’s necklace draws inspiration from the iconic Tiffany gold diamond.
The original yellow diamond weighing 128.54 carats was discovered in 1877 at the Kimberley diamond mine in South Africa. Since then, it has become one of Tiffany’s most renowned gems. In 2019, its estimated value reached up to $30 million (around 704 billion Vietnamese dong).

Dua Lipa has become the first star to wear the new iconic yellow diamond necklace from Tiffany & Co. In its over 140-year history, only four female celebrities have worn this iconic yellow diamond: Socialite Mary Whitehouse in 1957, Audrey Hepburn in 1961, Lady Gaga in 2019, and Beyoncé in 2021. With the new version of the world’s most famous necklace, Dua Lipa has made her own fashion history at the Met Gala 2023.
