He made the bold choice to replace actors Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck, who played Superman and Batman respectively, much to the dismay of many fans. Despite facing backlash, Gunn pressed on and made additional alterations to various roles, firmly believing that these sacrifices were crucial for the future development of the DC Universe.
Dwayne Johnson, the renowned A-lister, found himself at odds with James Gunn, resulting in the shattering of his long-held aspirations within the DCEU. His dedicated efforts to establish his own unique place in the superhero realm as Black Adam came crashing down with the rise of Gunn’s influence. It appears highly unlikely that The Rock will reprise his role as Black Adam anytime in the near future.
