In a relaxed interview on the ABC breakfast show, he shared, “I decided to take a year off to prioritize spending quality time with my family, and it has been a positive experience. Hopefully, by September, I will be welcomed back into the team.” During the interview, Howard also took the opportunity to promote his newly released autobiography, titled The Keeper, in which he bravely shares his personal story of triumph against all odds, including being raised by a remarkable single mother, to ultimately become one of the most celebrated goalkeepers in the sport.
