A recent survey conducted by Artistry by Amway, a renowned cosmetics and skincare brand, has crowned Audrey Hepburn as the ultimate timeless beauty icon. In a poll of over 2,000 Brits, Hepburn claimed the top spot, leaving Hollywood legend Marilyn Monroe in second place and Grace Kelly in a close third. Even the stunning Scarlett Johansson couldn’t rival the glamour and allure of the big names from Hollywood’s golden age, failing to make it into the top five. Surprisingly, supermodel Kate Moss garnered just two percent of the votes, securing her in eighth position on the list.

In addition to ranking beauty icons, the survey also delved into the perspectives of 2,000 women across the UK on their own definitions of beauty and their beauty routines.

When asked what factor contributes most to feeling beautiful, the majority of women (68 percent) affirmed that confidence is the ultimate key. Additionally, over half of the respondents (57 percent) believed that being in love enhances a woman’s attractiveness, while 38 percent expressed that wearing makeup boosts their self-esteem. Interestingly, women aged 55 and above display a higher level of satisfaction with their own beauty (26 percent) compared to younger women aged 18 to 24 (22 percent). Instead of viewing aging negatively, this group of older women embraces their natural beauty.

In contrast, a survey found that younger women aged 18 to 24 rely heavily on makeup, with 20 percent admitting to wearing a lot of it to feel more beautiful. However, older women, aged 55 and over, have a different perspective. They understand that beauty comes from a healthy lifestyle, with 62 percent believing that a healthy diet and exercise regime contribute to their own beauty. On the other hand, only 55 percent of women aged 35 to 44 share this viewpoint.

Interestingly, the survey also revealed that Brits are quite thrifty when it comes to spending on beauty products. Almost half of the participants stated that they spend less than ÂŁ10 per month on beautifying themselves. Additionally, the survey showed that Brits ranked themselves first for being the most beautiful, while placing the French in fifth place. The Swedish, Brazilians, and Spanish came in third, fourth, and fifth place, respectively.

A spokesperson from Amway UK commented on the findings, stating, “The study provides valuable insights into how beauty is defined and what makes women feel beautiful.”
