The song’s lyrics delve into the emotional turmoil experienced by Shakira as she grapples with the aftermath of her long-term partner Gerard falling in love with PR student Clara Chia Marti, who is significantly younger. Reflecting her Colombian heritage, Shakira soulfully expresses, “Witnessing your connection with someone else caused me immense pain, yet I am prepared to embark on a new chapter of my life.
